Have you started making your Super Bowl LIV plans yet?

Last year, preliminary wagering statistics reported by Atlantic City casinos and New Jersey horse tracks showed Super Bowl wagering totaled about $54.3 million with a projected total sports. Best places to watch the Super Bowl at Borgata. Moneyline Bar and Book and Level One Cocktail Bar and Lounge. Moneyline Bar and Book and the adjoining Level One Cocktail Bar and Lounge are ideally suited for any Atlantic City Super Bowl party. So, unsurprisingly, this has been one of the most coveted tickets around town.

OK, it may be a tad early.

We don’t even know which two teams will be playing in the big game.

But for the New Jersey sports betting crowd, booking a ticket to Miami may not be the best option. Atlantic City casinos are starting to take reservations for Feb. 2, 2020.

Packing a bag for a weekend stay is optional.

Super Bowl at Moneyline and The Book

The majority of AC’s eight retail sportsbooks are still ironing out the details. So far, three Atlantic City casinos have seats available for purchase:

  • Borgata
  • Bally’s
  • Harrah’s

Ironically, all three properties only had temporary facilities set up for Super Bowl LIII between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams.

Moneyline Bar & Book at the MGM-owned Borgata opened in June. Call it an upscale sports bar with the bonus of sports wagering windows.

Guaranteed seating can be reserved at Moneyline or the adjacent Level One Cocktail Bar & Lounge. There is a $75 per person food and beverage minimum. Call 609-317-7249.

Two of the Caesars Entertainment-owned properties are also taking reservations.

The Book at Bally’s held its grand opening celebration during Week One of the NFL season. At 15,228 square feet, it’s by far AC’s biggest sportsbook and has the look and feel of a Las Vegas venue.

In terms of seating, there are numerous options. Prices range from $30 for an end zone, high-top seat to more than $1,000 for a fan cave.

Sister property Harrah’s, on the other hand, offers a smaller, more intimate 3,800-square-foot setting. While the majority of seats are cozy, the options are limited. Prices range from $50 for an end zone seat to more than $800 for a “fan cave” premium experience.

More NJ mobile sports betting options

NFL betting in New Jersey is hugely popular. As a result, the number of mobile betting apps available continues to grow.

At last year’s Super Bowl, the Garden State sports betting market featured 12 options, three of which launched days before the big game.

Since then, BetMGM Sportsbookand Fox Bet NJhave been introduced as rebranded apps. Plus, five other offerings were rolled out to the market this year, with Unibet NJbeing the newest.

But what does all this mean for Super Bowl Sunday? Well, revenue-wise, figuring out ways to avoid another $4.5 million lossis a good start.

In terms of the sports betting atmosphere, every AC casino is all in with permanent retail operations. While it will not match the spectacle of Las Vegas, New Jersey sportsbooks are gearing up for a big day.

Reserving a seat is optional.

Before the launch of legal sports betting, Atlantic City was hardly an NFL town. There wasn’t a home team to root for and, frankly, for fans of nearby NFL franchises, there were better options for sweating games closer to home.

Now in the second year of legal sports wagering across New Jersey, America’s Playground has become one of the best places to spend an NFL Sunday.

Local fans of the New York Jets, New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles can certainly attest to that. They regularly fill the sportsbooks inside Atlantic City, enjoying the modern amenities these spots offer all while getting a little skin in the game.

With the NFL Playoffs coming up in just a couple of weeks, those that can’t make it to a live playoff game should consider a trip to Atlantic City, where the local sportsbooks have truly become some of the best NFL bars in the country.

We look at all eight Atlantic City sportsbooks proving that statement true with every beer ordered, chicken wing consumed and dollar wagered throughout the 2019 NFL season.

The Book at Bally’s

1900 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ 08401
609-340-2000

The Book at Bally’s calls itself the largest sportsbook in Atlantic City. At over 15,000 square feet, that’s certainly true.

It may also play host to the best NFL bars in the city. There are more than 130 seats around the sportsbook, including 28 at the bar with video poker and probably the best view of the giant 98-by-18-foot LED video wall in the room.

As a bar, The Book at Bally’s separates itself from the pack with its Beer Yourself wall. There are more than a dozen beers on tap on the serve-yourself wall helping turn NFL watching into a real experience here.

The Book at Harrah’s

777 Harrah’s Blvd, Atlantic City, NJ 08401
609-441-5000

At 3,800 square feet, The Book at Harrah’s isn’t even close to the size of sister sportsbook The Book at Bally’s.

But with a view of the high-quality resolution LED televisions from every plush seat and food service by AC Burger Co., it’s a perfect place to watch and bet on your favorite NFL team.

There are even two “Fan Cave” areas if you’re after a private sportsbook experience.

1 Borgata Way, Atlantic City, NJ 08401
609-317-1000

Borgata Race & Sports Book features 100 seats with individual flat-screen monitors for NFL viewing. There’s also a massive video wall and the Boot & Whip in-venue bar completing the NFL bar experience.

However, it’s the Moneyline Bar & Book at Borgata that really cements the property’s reputation as a great NFL bar.

The 8,000-square-foot sports bar and sportsbook features a 40-foot-wide LED video wall and six betting windows.

There are high-top tables with self-charging stations, U-shaped booths, and banquette seating in the VIP lounge, all with a great view of the game. But Moneyline is about more than watching and betting on the games. It’s an NFL bar with more than 20 craft beers and a menu filled with specialty bar bites.

The happy hour from 2-7 p.m. Sunday to Thursday offers $4 draft beer and $6 well drinks, which helps take it to the level of best NFL bars, as well.
